Meetings & Events:

November 7, 2023    Akron Family Restaurant, 12noon, lunch & program

     Program--open conversation with guests (retired priests and deacons)

December, 2023    Visit Nativity Museum at Nativity of the Lord Parish (Akron)     Date and time and eal arrangements to be determined

January, 2024     Lunch meeting with seminarians as guests

      Date and time to be determined; attending the First Friday Club of Greater Akron lunch meeting

         is being considered (seminarian speakers are planned for that meeting on Friday, Jan. 5th)

February through May, 2024--1st Tuesday of each month 

     February 6, March 5, April 2, and May 7

Lunch Meetings:  First Tuesday of the month for September August through May--include opening & closing prayers for religious vocations, lunch, and a speaker (about 20 minutes plus 10 minute Q&A.  Speakers include: priests; deacons; consecrated religious sisters, brothers, and priests; parish ministers; catholic school faculty and staff; and, lay people active in parish and diocesan life.   They may speak about how they came to be in their current status or position and what they are doing to further the Catholic faith and the spiritual life of of all people.

Evening meetings on the Third Tuesday of the month may resume in Fall 2024. Evening meetings usually are  scheduled most months, August through May, with the exception of February.  They also include opening and closing prayers for religious vocations, dinner, and a speaker (about 20 minute talk plus 10 minute Q&A.

Members and Guests Welcome at All Meetings:

Serra members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible.  Prospective members and other guests are welcome at all meetings.  Meal costs are $10 for members and guests, with prospective Serra members welcome at no charge.  The Akron Serra Club covers meal costs in excess of $10.
